Kosher Wine this year in Israel has special significance as Grapes that are growing this year in the land of Israel have a special Kosher wine status. This year is the Sabbatical year in Israel that happens every seven years. This Sabbatical year poses special problems for strictly adhering Kosher Wine manufacturers. These wine growers will not cultivate the vineyards at all and just harvest grapes that will grow in smaller amounts. After the wine is made from these grapes they will achieve a special status of kosher wine from the sabbatical year. These bottles will not be sent outside of Israel and will need to be used by Passover the following year. Their hallowed status essentially makes these wine bottles super Kosher wine for a short period of time. It should be noted that there are ways of extending this window of usage.
