Wine Recycling Causing Headaches in Europe

As the green trend seems to be taking hold around the world conservation has even come to the world of Wine makers. The Spanish government has passed a law making wine growers reuse half their bottles. The Wine makers for their part say that reusing old bottles will hinder the delicate aging process so important for high caliber wines. For some reason even the minutest amount of residue of a completely cleaned bottle will not let the wine age properly. Spain produces in the excess of ten million bottles of Red Wine a year creating an ecological nightmare in the country. The trend of better business practices clashing with green trends is not new those trends needs to be enforced by laws to actually take hold. Alcoholic beverages are traditionally taxed by governments; those bottles that are reused should receive a tax cut to encourage production and sale of recycled bottles

Wine is great but you need an earth to drink it on.
